The tragedy made the Phoenix

Hi there, MaVie here, wanting to explain clearly what happened on the 14th of November 2024 and how we handled the thing:

  • “Hi, I see black fire, should I call the firemen?” - said the neighbor at 9 AM

  • Benny rushed, the fire was quicker and had already started tearing down and apart our general head quarter - the heat wave was strong and was reaching our bee hives: Benny transported them to another side, and could also save the sauna by throwing water on the wood storage next to it, before it could catch on fire

  • Policemen and firemen started to reach us, flames were tamed and then I arrived

    Shocked.
    Couldn’t believe it.

  • Everyone was doing their best, also dealing with us: we had to answer questions, to manage the situation - Benny managed to be ready and present with them, whilst I was preparing the GoFundMe campaign and the list of the items we had lost …

I didn’t have to double check to realize that all the basics were burnt: bicycles, boxes, gloves, clothes, boots, pipes, plastic and linen lines of fabric for the field, tables, chainsaw, tools, towels, kitchen supplies, honey storage, seed storage, herbal storage, beans storage, nuts storage, sauces, rudimental and antique machinery, tents, pillows, covers, fouton, pieces of forniture … and much more.
In terms of buildings, we lost the General Head Quarter, the terrace, the water tower.

  • In less than 24 hours we had received over 5000€, that almost doubled within the three days, and in 3 days we have received the visits of more than 40 of you - gifting, donating, helping, hugging, cooking … supporting how you could!

The love that we received filled us with hope, joy and gratitude. This is priceless; a sensation of togetherness that made us realize that we have indeed achieved all that we wanted at start: a supportive community of people who know each other, might be or become friends, and love to live a healthy and long life based on simple things!

We are not alone, and neither are you!

Now, let me answer a few questions:
1. it’s hard to detect the origin of a fire; we weren’t there when it started and we exclude that it was someone’s fault - the dog would have bitten, and we know the intention we put into the world and even though someone might be jealous or envious, nobody around us would have acted like this
2. the remaining logic option is an electric short circuit: cables that sparkle and around them there’s wood - you do the math … or come and see its result!
3. the GoFundMe campaign is closed because all things have a timing, we don’t want to have this going on for too long and we feel like rebuilding on a smaller scale :)
4. the veggies are safe!

Now we are off with the selling until April, but come and seed with us, transplant or prepare the land from February onwards!

All our gratitude and the warmest hugs!

MaVie and Benny
